Begin a Conversation

Hi Fellas,
Welcome back. Today we are going to see about how to begin a conversation with a stranger or acquaintance.
• Start with a Greeting. “Hi”, “Hello”.
• Then say “Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon” or “Good Evening” according to the time. Note: Even when you meet a person at night, you should not say “Good Night” at the beginning of the conversation. You should start with “Good Evening”.
• Then introduce yourself. You can use the following format.
• “I am Ram. How are you?”
• After he answers back with his name and if he asks “how are you?”, then you should say “I am great/fine/fantastic/good/okay…Thanks for asking.”
• Indians take everything for granted and we do not use “Thank you” often. Try to thank anyone who gives you the opportunity to thank.:)
• If he/she looks familiar to you, you can say, “You look familiar. Have we met before?”.
• If it is the first time you meet him/her, you can ask general questions. I have given some conversation starters. You can use anyone of them. Use it sensibly.
• “How is your day?”
• “How is your life?”
• “How is your work?”
• “How is your family?
• “Do you think India will win the world cup?”
• “Do you like Politics/Reading/Watching movies/…..?”
• “Will it rain today?”
• “What are your interests/hobbies/pastimes?”
• “What do you do?”

You can ask any number of questions. I have given a few samples.
So, today we learnt how to begin a conversation. In next article, we will see how to answer to the above questions, if it is asked to you. Till then Cheerio!

Status quo of Present Graduates!

Dear friends,           It has taken me a long time to post an article. I have been reading Chetan Bhagat for a while. I have been inspired by his way of writing. I am learning a lot and it keeps me busy and occupied these days. He is great writer and may God bless him and his family.                           The present condition of our college graduates both the under graduates and post graduates seem to be in trouble with their English. There are a lot of different soft skills offered by their institutes even spoken English classes, but the programmes do not seem to have any effect on the student's improvement.          I felt horrible when I visited some colleges to handle soft skill modules and found the students curtly said no to the power points. When I asked them the reason and they told the other trainers never had one and did not get i...
