After a long time...

Hello Fellas,                      I am back after a looooooooooooooong time. Lately, I was handling a spoken English training in an engineering college. I was shocked to see the way the engineering college students were treated by their lecturers and professors. They treat the students like their captives. No wonder the students hate to study. In my opinion, Education should be a process where one should be interested to explore his knowledge and the teacher should be a guide to the student.  I personally feel that the lecturers and professors are not really interested in their jobs. They do it only for the monetary sake. There arises the problem. If you don't do anything out of your enthusiasm, definitely there will be a problem.                  We had a two-day workshop on communication and a lot of students enjoyed it. Because of their hectic schedule they were not able to concentrate fully, however they enjoyed all the activities. I had a wonderful session with tho

Has/have been and Has/have gone

Hi Amigos, I was a bit busy last week, that's why I wasn't able to post any articles. If you are waiting for one, here you go. Today we'll know the difference between 'Has/have been' and 'Has/have gone'. Has/have been: It is used for completed tasks.  In other words, it refers to an experience. It means somebody has been to a place and he/she is not there now. eg.,   John has been to London thrice. [John is not in London now].        I have been to Himalayas once. [I am not in Himalayas now]. Has/have gone: It is used to tell somebody has gone to a place and he/she is still in that place. eg., John has gone to London. [John is in London now].        I have gone to the mall; I should be there in ten minutes. [I am in the mall now].   I hope you would have understood the difference. If you still have doubts, please let me know. Sayonara!

Begin a Conversation

Hi Fellas, Welcome back. Today we are going to see about how to begin a conversation with a stranger or acquaintance. • Start with a Greeting. “Hi”, “Hello”. • Then say “Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon” or “Good Evening” according to the time. Note: Even when you meet a person at night, you should not say “Good Night” at the beginning of the conversation. You should start with “Good Evening”. • Then introduce yourself. You can use the following format. • “I am Ram. How are you?” • After he answers back with his name and if he asks “how are you?”, then you should say “I am great/fine/fantastic/good/okay…Thanks for asking.” • Indians take everything for granted and we do not use “Thank you” often. Try to thank anyone who gives you the opportunity to thank.:) • If he/she looks familiar to you, you can say, “You look familiar. Have we met before?”. • If it is the first time you meet him/her, you can ask general questions. I have given some conversation starters. You can use anyone
